Player software updates

Players configured for the new update service periodically check for compatible updates approved for their unit. Keep the player powered and connected to the network until installation has finished; it may restart automatically.

Players using the previous update service require an initial configuration. Contact support before replacing a working microSD card or installing a software image.

microSD downloads — LAZZARI R10

LAZZARI 1.3.10 R10, 7 November 2026. Includes R9 plus consistent customer-selected names across Setup, the network, Lyrion and Qobuz Connect. The saved name is restored after reboot and OTA updates while preserving account credentials and unique identities.

The three images passed 227 offline checks, filesystem checks and software tests for name/account preservation. Physical first-boot and end-to-end OTA validation of these exact new packages on all three profiles remain required before broad customer rollout.

Images require the customer credentials supplied at purchase, separate from administrator access. All R10 files, release notes and SHA-256 checksums · Previous R9 archive.

Select only your hardware profile: PCM5122 on I²C bus 3, PCM5242 on I²C bus 0, or external I²S. Write the .img.gz file with balenaEtcher: writing erases the card. Keep the previous working card. A full rewrite requires setup again; normal compatible OTA updates preserve settings in /data.

R9 basic guide (PDF, in Italian, no password): read it together with the R10 instructions on this page. This PDF has not been rewritten as an R10 manual.

Player names in R10

Choose a unique room name in Setup, for example LAZZARI-LivingRoom: 6–63 letters, digits and hyphens, without spaces. Save and allow the player to restart. Renaming does not sign in to Qobuz: complete Qobuz Connect sign-in for each player. The server recognises factory R10 and the corresponding OTA R10 as the same installed release.

Access your LAZZARI from Windows, Android and Mac

First connect the player to your router using Wi-Fi or a LAN cable. Your computer or phone must be on the same local network as the player. The following options do not require the remote support connection.

Windows 10 and 11 — optional automatic browser opening

Download ApriLettore for Windows (ZIP) — free download, no registration or password.

Extract the ZIP completely, open LAZZARI_ApriLettore.exe, enter your player’s local name or IP address and select “Verifica e installa” (Check and install). With your computer on and your user signed in, the helper opens the Music page when the player returns online after a restart. Use Disattiva.cmd to stop automatic opening. It monitors one player per computer user and requires compatible LAZZARI firmware. The program is not digitally signed; contact support if Windows blocks it.

ApriLettore is installed on the PC, not on the microSD card. It does not update the player, require an API account or enable Qobuz discovery. You can also open the player’s web page manually without installing it. The existing installer and its included guide are in Italian.

Android — Home screen shortcut

  1. Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the player.
  2. Open Chrome and enter your player’s full local address, for example http://lazzari-livingroom.local/#musica. This is an example: use the actual name assigned to your unit.
  3. If the .local name cannot be resolved, use the player’s IP address, available from the router or Setup.
  4. In Chrome’s menu choose “Add to Home screen”, then “Create shortcut” if prompted. Menu wording may vary. Name the shortcut after the room.

No APK is required. Tap the icon to open the player; Android does not automatically open the browser after the streamer restarts. Chrome shortcut instructions.

Mac — listen directly from Qobuz

No ApriLettore installation is needed on Mac. Connect your Mac and player to the same network, open the Qobuz app and choose your LAZZARI in the playback device selector. First complete Qobuz Connect sign-in in the player’s Setup; each player needs its own completed sign-in.

For Lyrion and LAZZARI settings, open Safari or Chrome and enter the player’s local name or IP address. No Mac helper download is required.

Multiple players

Assign a different name to each player in Setup, save it and create a browser bookmark or Home screen shortcut for each room. Synchronised playback requires all players to use the same Lyrion server.
